Bedworth FC Sunday 19th February 2017

Another good turn out for Hartshill Strollers, two mixed teams travelled to Bedworth for two games against a relatively new club to walking football.

The games were at the home ground of Bedworth United of the Evostick league.

Each game was a gruelling 30 minutes each way with 7 players per side and 2 subs.

On pitch one, It wasn’t too long before John ‘Cooper Man' Cooper scored the first goal for Hartshill, closely followed by goals from John Wilkes and Phil Bate. By the end of the first half Hartshill were leading 5-0.

During the second half Bedworth maintained a strong game and came back to score a goal, making the final score 5-1.

Everybody played an excellent game with several good saves from Paul Roche in goal.

On pitch two it was quite a different matter with Bedworth putting out a very strong team, but Strollers took an early lead with Gary Davis scoring from a penalty. It wasn't long before a positive Bedworth equalised and then went ahead to lead 2 - 1 at half time; Strollers came back to equalise with a good goal from Steve Edwards. Bedworth again took the lead but Strollers equalised again with a good effort from Gary again.

Late in the game Strollers gave away a sloppy own goal followed soon after with a final goal from Bedworth to make the final score 5 - 3 to Bedworth.

Pete Gibbons spent the first half in goal with Derek Hughes taking the second half.
