Second League game for the newly formed Hartshill Black

Hartshill Strollers (Black) 0-4  Boldmere WOB

Called Hartshill Black due to colour of new kit for new 50's team.

as we already have an over 50's team in Blue.

Match report:

Hartshill Strollers fc. (Black)

we faced Boldmere WOB today 6th January 2019 in Bedworth.

after the suspension of Mark Grazier from this game, gave our team a number of problems before we started as we had to recruit players from the over 60's team to make up the numbers.

We managed to recruit Dave Pickett, Stuart Dudwell, & Barry Geyton.

to play a part in this game,

Mark Grazier ( manager ) set up the team to play and not just park the bus so to speak.

The game started with Boldmere getting at us as soon as the whistle went and it seemed to disrupt our game plan, with a few shots going towards our goal. Pete Gibbons ( Goalie) doing what he does to stop them.

our formation took a bit of working out as we had to defend most of the first 10 minuets, but we managed to get some movement towards there box after that, but again we had players on the opposition who in our eyes did a bit more than walk, " this is not sour grapes" but it goes to show that the official needed to be sharp and have eyes in the back of his head to catch most of it.

but we played on without moaning, reaching half time with no score.

second half started a lot better for Hartshill with a shot on goal being saved but only just.

then we came under fire from the quick movement of there players and some good football, and got punished with a shot after there striker twisted and turned our defence, to fire from edge of the box into the roof of the net.

not being down hearted we battled on but were undone again after a slick move presented them with a one on one with Pete in goal.

unfortunately he could not stop it going in.

we swapped around and changed things a little to try and stop them getting any more and we looked as though we would get some reward as we pushed to get a goal.

but with our players not having played together in training and new additions trying there hardest to help out left us needing to be solid.

unfortunately we couldn't stop them scoring another 2 goals.

in the end it was a hard fought game that we hope when we play them again we make a better account of ourselves.

Final Score 0-4 to Boldmere.

Manager Mark Grazier thanked our team for there efforts and the help from the guy's in the over 60's for there help.
