Indeed, he kept out two fierce efforts by the club's goal poacher and England triallist John (Cooperman) Cooper.
Alun has been given the nickname Thierry by his Thursday night club-mates because his playing style reminds them of Thierry Henry, ex-Arsenal and France.
The proud Welshman, who played at the top level in Wales in the 1950s, turns up for virtually every Thursday session, and is slowly rekindling his glory, glory days.
