Hartshill v Hindlip 18th June 2017

It was a scorching hot day when Hindlip travelled to Summerhill School Kingswinford, to meet Hartshill Strollers for a friendly, one off game of “normal” football.

The game consisted of 9 players per team and was 25 minutes each way, it was a fast paced game with several opportunities for each team to score and several near misses. There was an amazing goal scoring header from Hartshills Gary, but unfortunately it was disallowed as he was offside.

Hartshill managed to hold their own against the visitors and went on to win 2-0, with both goals being scored by the game organiser Kevin Weston. It was a very good game and both teams enjoyed their runabout.

Well done to Kevin Weston, as this was his first game as Hartshill Strollers over 50’s manager and the first trophy won by Hartshill this year, hopefully the start of a very successful season for Hartshill Strollers.

Hartshill strollers team: Pete Gibbons, Pete Grove (C), Ivan White, Steve Nicholls, Mark Grazier, Dave Seddon, Andy Hewitt, Andie Lissemore, Mark Mullet, Kevin Weston, Gary Davis, Richard Delahaye,

Referee: Steve Dredge.

Linesmen: Bob Haywood and Reg Walker.

Man of the match, as nominated by Bernie Bustin was Pete Grove, for an excellent performance as defender and as team Captain.

Thank you to Hindlip for making the journey, we hope to see you again soon for a friendly rematch.
